[Texas] - Salt Water Disposal (SWD) Improvements: Improvements were made to the HPDI Texas UIC loader to identify SWD wells. Previously, SWD wells in Texas were labeled with the more generic types of "SW INJ" or "OTHER INJ"; With these improvements, there will be about 32,000 total SWD wells in Texas in DI Desktop, approximately 8,000 of which are active.
[Colorado] - Header Data Improvements: Several changes were made to the Colorado loaders to improve header data coverage and quality in Colorado; These changes resulted in the addition of over 40,000 new completion dates and about 4,500 new spud dates
[Louisiana] - Bottomhole Lat/Long Improvements: A new source for bottomhole lat/longs is now being utilized. This change will increase the bottomhole count in Louisiana from ~5,000 to ~30,000.
[Louisiana] - Reservoir Cleanup: Bad reservoir data in Louisiana’s reservoir table is now being culled. Previously, there were ~41,000 records tied to invalid records in our internal LA reservoir table and were being assigned a meaningless reservoir name of “RF”. All of these records will now have a reservoir name of “(N/A)”.
Relative date range search filter (Filter by last “n” days) option added to all existing Production, Permit, and Rigs date filters in the Explore panel
Added Graded Acreage layers to the layer manager - currently, only Pro users can use and see the Graded Acreage layers in the layer manager
Added the Basins layers, which are available to all users, to the layer manager - the available basins are the Anadarko, Denver, Permian, Powder River, and Williston
Highlight Wells in Cross Section from Cross Plot Selection
Center Well in Cross Section from 3D Scene
Auto-pick tops on logs in Cross Section or from a Basemap, and QC in Basemap
Load a stratigraphically ordered list of tops into Cross Section for picking
Auto-picked tops can be distinguished from manually picked tops in 3D Scene
Improved Layer Manager for adding Web Map Layers to Basemap
Large Projects run faster as tested in the following environment: Test Project Size: 36,000 Wells with 800,000 Well Logs ; Test Computer: Intel Xeon CPU E5 @ 3.3 GHz (2 processors), RAM: 128 GB, 250 GB ssd
Mnemonics add and remove faster to alias lists in the Well Log Alias Manager (Display times dropped from minutes to seconds)
Faster Cross Plot performance for log data (The first cross plot access loads all logs into memory and subsequent cross plots load faster from memory. Display times decreased by 12% for first access; and 62% for subsequent access to a cross plots of 36,000 wells x 2 logs per well = 72,000 logs)
Well logs display quickly in the Well Log Viewer (Observed display times were 5 seconds in a project of 36,000 wells and 800,000 well logs)
Well logs display faster in Cross Section (Display times for a 1500-well cross section decreased from 40 to 15 to seconds; > 60% improvement)
Logs display faster in 3D Scene (Display time for 7000 wells logs decreased from 21 to 1/3rd minute; > 90% improvement. Display of 7000 logs or less is recommended on a computer with a 128 GB of RAM)
Resize well track now functions in cross sections with 1,000-plus wells
Data selection panel no longer stutters when it is closed in Basemap
Improved rendering for geobodies, wells, and logs from faster frame rates in 3D Scene
Geology: Center cross section on a wellbore by right clicking on a selected wellbore in 3D Scene; Improvements made to the auto-correlation tops picker in cross sections (Less distinct log signatures pick more consistently); Algorithm tuning was conducted on log datasets from two large basins
Geology: Remove wells missing logs from cross sections using the filter options
Geology: Recreate Well List from original filter is working; Display a Well Log Alias as line instead of lathed cylinder in 3D Scene
Geology: Well-to-well cross section no longer flips when a wellbore is removed; Extract tops from horizons no longer hangs
Import/Export: Well-number identifier type for selected wells in the Data view can be changed between UWI, API, WWN, and Unknown to help match wells after new imports
Import/Export: C and F designations in Distributed Temperature Survey (DTS) files are recognized during import and saved in the database as degC and degF units
Import/Export: The OpenSpirit loader imports KB for the wellbore when different from the well
Completion perforation intervals: Displayed as spikes every 100 feet along the length of the perf interval; Colors alternate to distinguish the end of one interval from the beginning of the next; Tab added in the well info pane to display perforation interval table
Subsurfr now loads perf intervals, trajectories and logs for wells having no KB. If there is no KB, Subsurfr assumes a KB equal to ground elevation + 20 feet. This causes many more logs and trajectories to display than before
