Multiple User Improvements - The new Connected Users feature shows concurrent database users.
Multiple User Improvements - The Data Refresh tool now works for Wells data.
Multiple User Improvements - Edit locks no longer affect adding well scalar and zone scalar values in Scout Ticket view. Other areas such as Data Generation still have the locks in place.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - Interpolate horizon holes or edges in 3D Scene using the interpolation (I) mode. A double click on the horizon fills an area the size of the brush. Single clicks digitize a polygon area to interpolate fill.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - Change horizon picking modes using the right-click menu options. This enhances 2D horizon tracking speeds by using tiling techniques like the 3D tracking methods and by using better logic to recognize the seismic grid orientation.

Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - Better mouse clicking and slip tolerances improve picking horizons when using Manual (M) and Snap (S) modes.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - New horizon picking can now overwrite seeds from prior horizon picking.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - When left-click digitizing horizons in S mode, segment pre-render lines keep pace with cursor clicks while regular segments writing to the database. Network speeds for server hosted projects affect segment response.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - A new seed type, edge seeds, allows horizon auto-picking to propagate out to the bounding edge seeds; the edge seeds become auto seeds when auto-picking restarts to allow the horizon to grow without leaving relic seeds.
Seismic Interpretation Picking Improvements in Vertical Seismic View (VSV) & 3D Scene - Erase mode now defaults to preserving Manual Picks. To allow erasure, toggle Manual Picks in Erase Parameters.
Seismic Line Rendering Improvements - Use new Basemap options to create, edit, and switch between inlines, crossline, arbitrary lines, and 2D or 2D-3D composite lines. In Basemap, switch between line types, and drag inlines, crosslines, and arbitrary lines while lines are in transect edit mode.
Seismic Line Rendering Improvements - Stay in the same vertical section view by using right-click options to switch between inlines, crosslines, arbitrary lines, as well as fold lines.

Database Administration & Loading - The add ordering coding change fixes a potential project migration glitch.
Database Administration & Loading - New file “Parent Directory” and directory “Levels” search options improve bulk loading of raster images with registration files. Levels are relative to the Browse selected registration folder as follows: Level 1 = Folder above registration folder, Level 2 = Registration folder, Level 3 = Subfolder of registration folder.
Known Issues - In Horizon Interpretation: Erase mode (E), if user double clicks or clicks too fast the user will get the message below. To delete more than one point in a row or on a horizon, hold down the left mouse button and move.
Known Issues - Scalar locks from wells and zone scalars have only been removed from Scout Ticket. Locks in areas such as Data Generation are still in place.
Known Issues - A session does not restore in ‘flatten on seismic’ state if VSV was saved in this state.
Known Issues - The ability to flatten on seismic does not exist in 3D view.
Known Issues - TB-9664: NPE error opening session when Well Time Depth Model view is open.
Known Issues - TB-9631: Create 'Net Intervals' from Indicator Log fails to create Net intervals.
Known Issues - Clicking Yes in the ‘Allow Wellbore Editing dialog’ does not delete the child features of the wellbore.
Known Issues - Help files may not work on some computers. This issue is under investigation.
Known Issues - User Data Management: The best practice is to close most views before filtering users. Specifically, open VSV, Cross Section, and Data Generation views do not update after the first application of user filters. Instead, add the user back and filter again to update the views and/or close and reopen views. Also, Stratigraphic columns, Structural models, Well Targeting and Log Viewer do not support user filters.
Known Issues - Large (basin sized) projects: Well lists are slow to create in large volumes.
Known Issues - Large (basin sized) projects: The best practice for multiple user in one database is to set the X4M_DYNAMIC_WORKFLOWS configuration variable to “true” to turn off the option. This reduces the chance of pauses occurring while the blue donut spins.
Known Issues - Large (basin sized) projects: The spinning blue donut can occasionally display for a minute or two as memory appears to load a bunch of new data from the project database into the session. Implementing the above suggestion helps eliminate the pauses.
Known Issues - Basemap: Contours may not create on auto-picked time horizons from large seismic volumes. Instead, click off the Automatic Intervals option and increase the Manual contour interval.
Known Issues - 3D Scene: The Bayesian logic in Transform remembers prior settings and can cause Horizons and picks to display translucent in 3D Scene. Use the Translucence slider in Horizon Style to change the setting for one horizon. To fix for all horizons, delete the files in the folder: C:\Users\steve.kerschbaum\Application Data\Transform\bayes. Your session will have to be closed and reopened before the memory loses the information from the bayes files.
Known Issues - 3D Scene and VSV Horizon Interpretation: When Interpreting multiple horizons in multiple views (VSVs and 3D Scenes), using the CTRL+Z option to undo all seed picks for a horizon can stop the picking mode and can cause another horizon to be in picking mode. Resolve this by cycling the Horizon Interpretation button off and back on.
Known Issues - 3D Scene: For Horizon the “Interpolate/extrapolate” option to work with the “Require seismic data” option, the horizon needs to have an auto-tracked history with the current seismic volume. The “Require seismic data” option prevents interpolation through seismic holes (dead traces)
Known Issues - VSV: When editing and moving a Transect in Basemap that spans two seismic volumes, the seismic traces in the corresponding VSV will update for one volume, but not the second volume. Instead, move the VSV using Page Up or Page Down.
Known Issues - Migrate projects: The automatic launch of DBAdmin from Transform issues the error below. Instead, run DBAdmin.exe to migrate instances and repositories.

Drillinginfo is excited to announce the release of DI Transform 5.1, featuring two brand new tools: Well Targeting and Pad Planning, as well as significant improvements to our Well Interference, Data Analysis, and Raster Registration & Digitization tools. Additional data types have been updated to the unified data import process, and refreshable features released in 5.0 can now be modified and edited. Database instance and repository migration is required.
Well Targeting - With the click of a button, quantify key wellbore/stratigraphic parameters such as heel and toe landing zones, percentage and footage in zone, heeltotoe TVD differences, toe up or down, zone traversal, and heeltotoe areal deviations. Apply these parameters to big picture analyses. This tool creates a powerful data attribute library using stratigraphic horizons and wellbore surveys.
Pad Planning - The Pad and Field Planning workflow enables you to plan well pads over an entire field at once. Planning is done on a basemap, on any combination of layers, such as lease boundary polygons, production prediction maps, or both. Use tools to trim, move, and rotate individual wellbores. View development plans next to stratigraphy rendered in the 3D scene. Planned surveys can be exported for easy sharing with 3rd party drilling companies.
Well Interference - Rapidly quantify the effect on nearby producing wells of interference from new well completions. Legacy tools have been improved and combined into one intuitive workflow perspective. A bulk scan identifies well associations for preinterference, and interference wells with simple creation of distance attributes. These pairs are linked to the basemap and 3D scene for immediate quality control. Easily inspect time series data for interference signals, using slider bars to define comparative time windows, and generate attributes that can be used for additional analysis and predictive model building. The tool also features simple computation of preinterference cumulative production and automatic creation of attribute plots for instant analysis.
Data Analysis - Explore data more efficiently with the new and improved data analysis tools. Pie and bar charts are now available, and crossplots feature a new “shape by” option. Select attributes from axis dropdown menus, and take advantage of local and global filters for even greater flexibility and sidebyside data comparisons. Check out improved functionality for working with categorical variables. Connect to spreadsheet information, such as DI Engineering data, directly in Data Analysis, and bypass the well scalar importer.
Raster Depth Registration and Digitization - Massive improvements have been made to depth registration speed, incorporated offscale digitization with up to 10 side-by-side tracks, and colormatch settings that dramatically improve color log digitization.
Updateable Loaders - Wellbores, well tops, and perforations have now been added to the unified data import framework. See the relevant wells in a basemap before you import features, and choose how features are updated. This involves using rules to configure how new and existing features will be treated. For example, when features selected for import already exist in the database, override existing features with those being imported or alternatively, preserve existing features, and create new features only when there is no existing information.
Rehydration of Well Lists, Zones, and Well Zone Scalars - Existing refreshable well lists, zones, and well zone scalars now can be rehydrated from the refresh interface. The rehydrate icon launches the original user interface used to create the well list, zone or zone scalar. From this original UI, the user can change the original creation parameters, which will be monitored for changes from this point on when the well list, zone, or zone scalar needs an update/refresh.
Data Analysis - Overhaul addresses a large volume of bugs and frequently requested enhancements, Zone aliasing supported in Data Analysis plots, Filtering by operator no longer shows all operators alphabetically between selections, Add simple wellbore interval list builder, Data range filters can now use any zone, Plots update when scalar data is edited, Additional control of the Z Axis Symbol Size Axis
Geology - Overhaul of Raster Digitization and Registration UI addresses a large volume of bugs and frequently requested enhancements, LIVE checkbox and Listeners work in Mapping and normalizing logs simultaneously, Linux only: Raster workflows are turned on for 5.1, Linux only: Raster images display in Raster Registration pane
Import/Export - Export horizon depth options available with main toolbar export icon,
Microseismic - Microseismic Analysis recognizes attributes converted from processing events
Install/Administration - Supported Plugin License Key, Linux and Windows
Defect Fixes
Data Analysis - Filtering by operator no longer shows all operators alphabetically between selections, Spud date in Data Range Filters retains date format, Operator vs. Cum Oil crossplot from "Getting Started Panel Link" axis options no longer disappear
User Interface - Treatment curves are no longer displayed as duplicates in data tree
Import/Export - TFI (ASCII) importer now gives user an error when import fails, Error message provided if interval names in file do not match interval names in project will not fail silently
When using the 5.0.0 release and reloading well data, in some cases (generally if well logs were loaded) it can cause corruption to the data within the wellbore table in the database. The problem in itself does not stop the data being loaded into the session – the error generally shows up when the corrupt wellbores are displayed in the 2D or 3D view. The problem was fixed in the 5.0.1 release and this 5.0.2 release contains a new maintenance option in DBAdmin, which will allow users to inspect a database for corrupt wellbores and, if found, allow them to be fixed.
The 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 release contains a pair of related issues which can stop a project being loaded into DI Transform. This does not cause data loss, but users are unable to use the database until the 5.0.2 patch is installed. The reason for the problem is that the refreshability option inspects data upon loading from the database – if an error occurs during this phase, the exception will stop the data being loaded. This can occur if a wellbore corrupted (due to item 1) is used in refreshability or if a previously populated well list is empty (causing a NullPointer error). In the 5.0.2 release the NullPointer error has been fixed (as has item 1), and refreshability has been disabled at data load – so future problems will not stop data being loaded.
Drillinginfo is pleased to announce the release of DI Transform 5.0.2. This is a patch release primarily intended to provide fixes for two major issues from previous 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 releases. The release addresses database and data loading issues. The 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 release contains a pair of related issues which can stop a project being loaded into Transform. In the 5.0.2 release the NullPointer error has been fixed (as has item 1), and refreshability has been disabled at data load – so future problems will not stop data being loaded. It is STRONGLY recommended that users of 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 download and install this patch release to prevent possible corruption of databases. This release does not require new licensing, database instance migration, or repository migration. Simply load the release and start working.
